I offer counselling services in the following areas:
With individual (or personal) counselling sessions I will listen and help you to gain a deeper understanding of your particular situation and concerns. I will help you to determine appropriate goals and set into motion a plan to create and sustain positive change to find the best way forward for you.
Sometimes, the problems that bring you to counselling involve others that you are in relationship with. If you have relationship difficulties and the other party does not agree to attend counselling with you, these issues can be addressed in your individual work with me, drawing on both my individual and relationship counselling skills.
Relationship Counselling (also called Marriage or Couple Counselling) helps couples to recognise, and to better manage or reconcile, troublesome differences and repeating patterns of stress upon the relationship.
All relationships can have ups and downs, but sometimes they can get a bit stuck and it’s hard to talk things through or to stay connected; resentment can build and worsen the situation.
Whether you are feeling things just aren’t quite right or whether you are encountering serious difficulties, I am there to listen and to support you both towards a positive relationship outcome.
PREPARE/ENRICH is the leading relationship assessment and skills-building program used nationally and internationally, built on a solid research foundation and proven to significantly improve a couple’s relationship.
I am an accredited Prepare/Enrich facilitator who can take you through the formal process of the on-line Prepare/Enrich Relationship Inventory and use my counselling and relationship education knowledge and skills to help you to understand and work with the areas of strength and challenge in your relationship.
Those who conduct marriage ceremonies, both secular and non-secular, often recognise the benefits of this and require couples to do this or similar preparation prior to conducting your ceremony. Call for details or refer to the Prepare/Enrich website.
On-line counselling using Skype is convenient for people that have difficulty travelling to appointments either because of distance/remoteness, mobility problems, anxiety issues which prevent them leaving their home, people with childcare commitments or simply those with a busy work and travel schedule.
Both face-to-face and online sessions are usually booked for one hour and cost:
$120 for Individuals
$135 for Couples
$190 for 1.5hr couple session – this longer session is recommended for the first couple session
Payment is required at time of booking for on-line counselling and at time of service for face to face sessions.
Payment methods accepted: Direct Debit or Cash.
Student and other low-income concessions are available on request for appointments during business hours.
